People love free steam games, no doubt. But what many people hate is downloading so many parts and trying to install them on their own. This is why we are the only site that pre-installs every game for you. Dungeon Siege is an action adventur role-playing video game developed by Gas Powered Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was released in 2002 and later bundled with the X800 line of video cards in 2005. In November 2003, the developer Gas Powered Games and Mad Doc Software created an official standalone expansion pack for the game called Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna.
Has anyone ever used any of the Legends and Lairs source books from Fantasy Flight Games?
If so, which books did you use?
Were they compatible were they in a campaign setting, home brew or published?

I have 4 of the Instant Adventures. They are based on Fantasy Flight's Diskwars game.
They are written for use with 3.0 and while some of them aren't spectacular, you can easily adapt it to your style of play.
As far as I can tell, every adventure has it's own new monster. Some of them even introduce new magic items.
The adventures are really short though, but a good DM can add so much more.
Of the adventures I have, 'The Thief's Gold' is my favorite. 'The Hidden Vault' is very bland, but a good DM can turn that around. 'The Tuggarth Gauntlet' centers around 2 fun magic items. 'The Dark Tribe' is a good roleplaying adventure.

In the past I have mucked about with Wildscape, Draconic Lore, The Path of the Sword, and Sorcery and Steam. They're definitely among the best sourcebooks I saw for 3rd edition, though I will confess that I didn't use them extensively so YMMV.
Wildscape might have been the greatest of them all: it had some really good alternative class features for Rangers and Druids. There were some pretty good ideas in there as well on effects you could use to make certain types of terrain more realistic.
Path of the Sword wasn't as great, though they did have a pretty interesting idea with their Legendary Classes. They were almost like prestige classes, but involved much more difficult or specific quests to gain entry and the abilities tended to be somewhat more impressive. That book was also overflowing with new options for fighting types.
Draconic Lore was cover-to-cover dragons. Not normal dragons either, but some real odd ones. Things like the wooly dragon. There were several that weren't that terrible though.
Sorcery and Steam has its first 27 pages dedicated to discusing what elements make a game 'steampunk' and the kinds of effects those elements have on traditional assumptions of fantasy RPGs. Its a really great intro to the genre. It also gives some guidelines and alternative class features for using the traditional 3rd edition classes in a steampunk game. The new classes, PrCs, feats, and equipment are all pretty much what one would expect for steampunk settings, though the section on firearms does do a good job touching on the history of firearms and how and why they were designed as they appear in the book.
Most of the stuff worked alright, though anytime you have an abundance of material to select from you run the risk of finding combos that are too powerful. Most of the stuff you could easily include into any campaign world, whether it was homebrewed or something published. Sorcery and Steam stands apart on its own much more than the others, but with a few tweaks and a little imagination it wouldn't be hard to use most of it.

I've been offered a copy of Giant Lore, by FFG. Does anyone have anything to say about that sourcebook, either good or bad?

It's good. Suitably giant-oriented. Not quite enough on fighting against giants for my liking, but if you want lots of information on new types of giants and interesting options for them, it's a good buy.

Well, I'm more interested in things which give Giants more of a fighting chance - feats, prestige classes, etc. At some point I want to convert and run the 1e classics G 1-3 (I have the 2e update published by TSR).

I have the Seafarer Handbook, Steam and Sorcery, Cityworks, Traps and Treachery, Darkness and Dread, Spells and Spellcraft. They all see occasional use in my campaigns, as I borrow bits of each for specific occasions (such as spells, library research subsystem, etc.).
The four 'Path of' books were not so useful, as they focused mostly on feats, PrCs and such stuff, of which there was already more than an overload thanks to the WotC splatbooks.

In that case, it has:
10 new creatures with the 'giant' type
6 templates for giants
4 prestige classes for giants
23 feats for giants
2 new optional combat rules (the 'fall on top of you' manoeuvre and the 'unarmed slam' attack) along with armour options for giants
7 new spells
6 new magic items
And 6 pages of anti-giant stuff
Does that help?
